Cancellation Policy

We look forward to gathering with you in Seattle, WA, August 8–10, 2024. However, we understand that situations can change; therefore, APA will offer a 90% refund on your in-person registration if cancellation is received by June 30, 2024. A refund will not be provided if your cancellation notice is received after June 30, 2024.  

   

This policy will only apply to your APA 2024 in-person registration and does not apply to any other reservations made related to the convention, such as virtual registration fees, hotel accommodations, transportation, meeting room requests, and/or CE Workshops.

The APA Convention is a reinvestment into our community and the money goes back into creating a valuable and enriching experience for attendees.


Real Costs Explained

On average, APA invests $354 per attendee to deliver a dynamic convention experience. This means we offer subsidized rates for student members ($125-$225) and student non-members ($220-$320). These rates are made possible by the registrations paid by members ($415-$515) and non-members ($595-$695), which allows APA to provide education, skill-building and a forum to report cutting-edge research findings.

Pricing FAQs

  • How do I cancel my All Access registration?

    You may cancel your in-person registration using the cancellation form (link to come) by June 30, 2024 to receive a 90% refund. Refunds will not be issued for cancellations submitted after June 30.  APA will process all cancellations upon receipt of your notice and respond with a final confirmation.

  • Can I cancel my Virtual registration?

    No. The cancellation policy only applies to All Access registration. 

  • Can I change my All Access registration to a Virtual registration?

    Yes. To switch registration types by June 30, 2024, please select that option in the cancellation form. However, if you chose to switch your registration from All Access to Virtual, you must do so before the cancellation cutoff date of June 30, 2024. The currently published virtual attendee rate will be deducted from your refund and the balance minus 10% will be applied to your virtual registration fee.  

  • If I just sent in my registration, when will it be processed and when will my card be charged?

    Registrations are processed automatically at the time of submission. If you would like to cancel after you complete your registration, APA requires you to complete the cancellation form, which will be processed in accordance with the cancellation policy.   

  • If I cancel my registration, when will I get a refund?

    Refunds for payments made by credit card will be processed 3-5 business days from submittal; however, it may take up to 30 days for the credited amount to be reflected in your account by your bank. Refunds for other payment types will be issued by the APA Accounts Receivable department as soon as invoices are finalized.   

  • Will canceling my APA 2024 All Access registration also cancel my hotel reservations?

    No, you must cancel your hotel reservation directly with onPeak, the convention housing company. You can return to the hotel confirmation and follow the cancellation instructions in the confirmation email.

  • What else can I do to protect myself when making airline and hotel reservations?

    APA advises registrants against making nonrefundable travel arrangements. Should you purchase nonrefundable airline tickets or make nonrefundable hotel reservations, you do so at your own risk.

  • What if I cancel my registration and then change my mind?  

    If you need to reinstate your registration, contact convention@apa.org.

  • What happens if APA cancels the event?

    APA reserves the right to cancel, alter, or reschedule the convention for any reason, including because APA determines in its sole discretion that the convention cannot be held as planned. APA also reserves the right to close registration when tickets are sold out or if local jurisdictions impose restrictions.   

       

    Should APA cancel the convention for any reason, your convention fees will be refunded.
