Ann M. Steffen, PhD, ABPP

Ann M. Steffen, PhD, ABPP is a licensed psychologist and Founders Professor of Psychological & Brain Sciences at the University of Missouri-St. Louis. She earned her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Indiana University-Bloomington, interned at the VA Palo Alto Health Care System, and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in clinical geropsychology at Stanford University School of Medicine. Dr. Steffen's research, teaching, and clinical work focus on mental health and aging, with specific attention to later-life depression and professional training. She is board-certified in Geropsychology and dual-certified in Behavioral and Cognitive Psychology by the American Board of Professional Psychology. Dr. Steffen is the lead author of Treating Later-Life Depression: A Cognitive Behavioral Approach workbook and clinician guide published by Oxford University Press. Her newest book is forthcoming from Guilford Press - CBT with Clients in Midlife and Beyond: A Clinician’s Guide to Effective Practice.
