Accessibility
On-site Accessibility
At APA 2026, we continue to take an active and intentional role in creating an inclusive and welcoming environment where all attendees have the opportunity to participate. While we aim to anticipate a wide range of access needs, we recognize that individual needs vary. For individuals with disabilities and/or medical conditions, if you request accommodations beyond the examples provided below, please specify accommodations during the registration process and a member of our team will reach out to gather more details to determine how APA can best accommodate your request.
We ask that you register by June 24
to allow APA adequate time to follow up.

Accessibility and Disability Resources Space
Location: Exhibit Hall D, Front Right
In the Accessibility and Disability Resources Space, convention attendees can connect with services and support designed for individuals who identify as disabled (apparent, non-apparent, temporary, or permanent), neurodivergent, or as having a medical condition. This space also celebrates disability pride, recognizing disability as a valued identity and an essential part of our community.
About Individual Sessions
All session presenters at APA 2026 are required to make their presentations accessible. Failure to do so may preclude an individual from presenting at a future APA event.
APA also strongly encourages all presenters to upload their presentation materials to the APA 2026 app before the convention to enable attendees to download and/or print such documents to bring with them. Unfortunately, APA cannot guarantee that all presenters upload their materials in advance and APA does not have access in advance to slides or outlines. With the exception of sessions offered virtually, APA does not record sessions, and so no transcripts are available of the presentations following the sessions. We encourage attendees to connect with presenters in-person or via email following the session to request materials.
Accessibility at the Convention Center
The Walter E. Washington Convention Center is an accessible facility. This includes restroom facilities and elevators compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Service animals are allowed per ADA guidelines. Learn more about accessibility at the convention center.
Gender neutral restrooms are available on every level of the Middle Building and south side of the convention center.
Signage will be posted near elevators in the convention center indicating which levels each elevator serves.
Hotel Accommodations
Please note that ADA rooms are available at APA contracted Convention hotels when booking through APA’s Partner, onPeak. To view options and room details, select "Accessible Rooms" from the dropdown menu on the onPeak website.
After selecting an accessible room, onPeak will follow up to confirm that the hotel can meet your specific needs. For questions or assistance, please contact meetings@apa.org.
