Accessibility
On-site Accessibility
At APA 2026, we are taking an active and intentional role in creating an inclusive and welcoming environment where all attendees have the opportunity to participate. While we aim to anticipate a wide range of access needs, we recognize that individual needs vary and individualized requests remain essential. For individuals with disabilities and/or medical conditions, if you require accommodations beyond the examples provided below, please specify accommodations during the registration process and a member of our team will reach out to gather more details and ensure we can accommodate your request.
We ask that you register by June 24
to allow APA adequate time to meet all needs. Reasonable requests made after this date will be considered.

Accessibility and Disability Resources Space
Location: Exhibit Hall D, Front Right
In the Accessibility and Disability Resources Space, convention attendees can connect with services and support designed for individuals who identify as disabled (apparent, non-apparent, temporary, or permanent), neurodivergent, or as having a medical condition. This space also celebrates disability pride, recognizing disability as a valued identity and an essential part of our community.
About Individual Sessions
APA encourages all session presenters at APA 2026 to make their
presentations accessible. We also encourage all presenters to upload their presentation materials to the APA 2026 app before the convention to enable attendees to download and/or print such documents to bring with them. Unfortunately, APA cannot provide slides or outlines in advance or transcripts of the presentations following the sessions. Presenters are given the option to upload materials in advance to the APA 2026 app, but we cannot guarantee all presenters will do this. We encourage attendees to connect with presenters in-person or via email following the session to request materials.
Accessibility at the Convention Center
The Walter E. Washington Convention Center is an accessible facility. This includes restroom facilities and elevators compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Service animals are allowed per ADA guidelines. Learn more about accessibility at the convention center.
Gender neutral restrooms are available on every level of the Middle Building and south side of the convention center.
Signage will be posted near elevators in the convention center indicating which levels each elevator serves.
Hotel Accommodations
Please note that ADA rooms are available at APA contracted hotels when booking through APA’s Partner, onPeak. To view options and room details, select "Accessible Rooms" from the dropdown on the onPeak website.
APA is working closely with all hotels in the official block to ensure ADA compliance. After selecting an accessible room, onPeak will follow up to confirm that the hotel can meet your specific needs. For questions or assistance, please contact meetings@apa.org.
