On-site Accessibility  and Requests

We are taking an active and intentional role in creating an inclusive and welcoming environment where all attendees have the opportunity to participate. While we aim to anticipate a wide range of access needs, we recognize that individual needs vary and individualized requests remain essential. For individuals with disabilities and/or medical conditions, if you require accommodations beyond the examples provided below, please specify accommodations you may require when you register for APA 2026, and a member of our team will reach out to gather more details and ensure we can accommodate your request.

We ask that you  register by June 24 to allow APA adequate time to meet all needs. Reasonable requests made after this date will be considered.

This space also celebrates disability pride, recognizing disability as a valued identity and an essential part of our community.

About Individual Sessions

APA encourages all session presenters at APA 2026 to make their presentations accessible.  We also encourage all presenters to upload their presentation materials to the APA 2026 app before the convention to enable attendees to download and/or print such documents to bring with them. Unfortunately, APA cannot provide slides or outlines in advance or transcripts of the presentations following the sessions. Presenters are given the option to upload materials in advance to the APA 2026 app, but we cannot guarantee all presenters will do this.  We encourage attendees to connect with presenters in-person or via email following the session to request materials.

The Walter E. Washington Convention Center

The Walter E. Washington Convention Center is an accessible facility. This includes restroom facilities and elevators compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Service animals are allowed per ADA guidelines.  Learn more about accessibility at the convention center.

Hotel Accommodations

Please note that ADA rooms are available at APA contracted hotels when booking through APA’s housing partner, onPeak. From the onPeak homepage, select "Accessible Rooms” in the dropdown to see hotel options and room details.
