Daniel Jimenez, PhD

Dr. Daniel Jimenez is an associate professor in the department of psychiatry at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. He earned his Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Palo Alto University. He then completed a postdoctoral fellowship in geriatric mental health services research at Dartmouth. He has dedicated his career to identifying mental health disparities affecting older Latinos and developing innovative strategies to reduce, and ultimately eliminate these disparities. He has received multiple federal grants to design and implement culturally appropriate and novel approaches to preventing mental illness in older Latinos. He is a fellow of the Gerontological Society of America and was recently chosen to receive the American Association for Geriatric Psychiatry’s Diversity Award in recognition of his innovative approach and track record of service to older Latinos.
