Kenneth Maynard, PhD

Kenneth I. Maynard, PhD, FAHA is an accomplished scientific and organizational leader with a career spanning academia and the pharmaceutical industry. He earned his academic degrees including his doctorate from University College, London and pursued an academic career as an Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital, where he led multidisciplinary research teams and published more than 50 peer reviewed scientific articles. He is an elected Fellow of the American Heart Association (FAHA). He transitioned into the pharmaceutical industry in 2000 and has held progressive global leadership roles in drug discovery, drug development, external innovation, portfolio strategy, drug safety and global program team leadership and excellence. Throughout his career, he has been an invited speaker at leading international academic institutions, scientific conferences and forums, recognized for his expertise in neuroscience, translational science, and leadership. Dr. Maynard has served in leadership roles on various boards and committees for academic institutions, professional scientific societies, the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine, and the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
