Adrian Aguilera, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor at UC Berkeley (School of Social Welfare and Computational Precision Health) and UCSF (Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences). At UC Berkeley, he leads the Digital Health Equity and Access Lab (dHEAL) and the Center of Excellence for Behavioral Health Equity. At UCSF, he directs the Latino Mental Health Research Program (LMHRP). Trained as a clinical psychologist, Dr. Aguilera specializes in cognitive and behavioral therapies for depression and anxiety and conducts research developing and testing technology-based interventions to reduce health disparities in low-income and ethnic minority populations. His work uses mobile technologies and data science, including machine learning, to enhance the personalization and effectiveness of mental health interventions. He is dedicated to integrating innovation and equity to improve mental health in underserved communities.
