Dr. Sood is the Executive Director, Global Center for Resilience and Wellbeing and The GRIT Institute. He is also a Former Professor of Medicine, Chair of Mind Body Initiative, Enterprise director of Student Life and Wellness, all at Mayo Clinic. He is Internationally Recognized for Work on Resilience, Wellbeing, Burnout, Happiness, and Mindfulness.
Dr. Sood has authored or co-authored over 80+ original research papers and is the author of the books, The Mayo Clinic Guide to Stress-Free Living, The Mayo Clinic Handbook for Happiness, Immerse: A 52-week Course in Resilient Living, Mindfulness Redesigned for the Twenty-First Century, SMART with Dr. Sood, Stronger: The Science and Art of Stress Resilience, The Resilience Journal, Happier Mornings Calmer Evenings, 2021: Your Year of Healing; That Makes Sense. His work has been cited amongst the top media publications including NYT, WSJ, USA Today, CBS Sunday Morning, among others.
He has received numerous awards for his work including the Distinguished Service Award, Innovator of the Year Award, Faculty of the Year, and Outstanding Physician Scientist Award from Mayo Clinic. He was nominated as a Robert Wood Johnson Health Care Pioneer in 2015.
