APA will feature three new science summits to showcase outstanding science and discuss the future of research in three areas highly relevant to contemporary issues. These summits offer an exciting opportunity to highlight top research and provide critical discussions that can guide and inspire scientists across broad areas of research.

Keynote addresses, distinguished panels, symposia, and data blitzes will set the agenda for the science in each of these crucial areas, with an outstanding lineup of distinguished and emerging scientific leaders in the field.

The Science on Technology and Human Behavior

Advances in technology are accelerating, raising questions about how technology may replace human functions or benefit humans’ experiences. How can the science of human behavior help guide our progress as new developments, such as AI, have broader application for education, the workplace, and even psychological treatment?

Dialogue around the future of science, and the need to diversify the voices represented in science, often leads to the need for changes to long held traditions in scientific methods, academic evaluation, and the need to listen to global perspectives on psychological theories and constructs that were developed from a relatively homogenous viewpoint. Moving is critical for our psychological well-being, cognitive functioning, and physical health. Yet as a population, we are moving less and less. The new class of drugs used to treat diabetes and obesity have the potential to redefine our relationship not only with food but also body image. What does psychological science tell us about how we can inspire more movement and exercise for people of all ages and abilities, including those who move for fun, for health, for work, or as competitive athletes?
