Tips for Writing an Effective Proposal
1. Start early.
Strong proposals take time to plan, write, and revise. Give yourself room to coordinate with coauthors, gather the required information, and resolve any last-minute issues. The submission deadline is January 13, 2027 at 5 p.m. ET.
2. Align your proposal with the Division you are submitting to.
Submitting a Division session or poster? Make sure your proposal aligns with the Division’s programming goals by checking the Division Program Requirements.
3. Grab attention with a great title.
A great title sets your proposal apart. Make sure yours is clear and engaging, with the key words and concepts at the beginning. Browse example titles.
Submit Your Session for CE
Your session can offer continuing education (CE) credit! Being a CE presenter gives you greater visibility in the APA 2027 program and an additional achievement you can note on your CV.
